Visiting St. Augustine Florida? Check Out La Fiesta Inn

We love looking for new places to take our family. A recent trip to St. Augustine gave us just what we needed for our first big trip in 2022. We stayed at a great hotel on St. Augustine Beach, La Fiesta Inn. We stayed for two days before heading to Tampa, and here is our honest review.

La Fiesta Inn is located at 810 A1A Beach Blvd in St. Augustine Beach. It is one of several rental options by the same owners, which provides a family-friendly place to stay. La Fiesta is close to shopping, food and next door to a lovely mini-golf spot, Fiesta Falls. P.S. you get coupons too.

Additionally, you’re about 11 minutes from Castillo de San Marco and St. George street. The location puts you just outside the busy section, but you won’t miss anything close enough.

Property & Services

La Fiesta Inn offers multiple services to help make your stay comfortable and purely amazing. The two-story hotel creates the classic Spanish architecture mixed with the old Florida surf town with a brick driveway, a Spanish tile roof, and beautiful gardening.

Some services and amenities offered at La Fiesta Inn are:

  • Heated pool
  • Laundry facility
  • 450 feet to the beach
  • WiFi
  • On-site parking
  • Vending machines
  • WiFi
  • Trolley tour stop
  • Complimentary coffee and newspaper in the lobby

The services offered are what you expect from a privately owned, non-chain hotel with that special personalized touch.

Pool

La Fiesta Inn offers guests use of the 60-foot heated pool. Beach chairs and tables surround the pool, and they provide towels for your convenience. The pool is surrounded by a fence covered in well-maintained tropical feeling shrubbery giving you some privacy from the driveway and nearby A1A.

Private Beach Access

Just 450 feet of private boardwalk separates your room from some of the best beaches in the country. La Fiesta is far enough from the public access to provide guests a peaceful spot to lay on the beach or dip their feet in the water. Also, an early morning walk can help clear your head while finding fresh seashells.

We splurged and reserved one of La Fiesta’s two-story ocean-view suites. Additionally, La Fiesta provides a double queen to king poolside room to a full-efficiency apartment. Each room offers a very cozy atmosphere for a relaxing vacation.

La Fiesta Inn Bedrooms

Our suite had plenty of room for the five of us. The two-story townhouse had a king-size bed on the second floor. Also, a queen and full-size pull-out sofa bed on the first floor let the kids feel like it was a sleepover staying up watching SpongeBob.

La Fiesta Inn Kitchenette

Our suite had a decent-sized wet bar with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The mini-fridge came in handy, keeping our water and Whetstone fudge nice and cool. One huge mention, we needed more coffee; they gave us about 8 cups worth saying we need to relax in the morning on vacation. It was a lovely gesture.

La Fiesta Inn Bathrooms

The townhouse suite had one huge benefit. The suite has two full bathrooms. First, the downstairs bathroom had a toilet, sink, and shower. Second, the king bathroom had a sink, toilet, and a huge jacuzzi tub. We had plenty of towels and had no issues getting anything we needed for the stay.

One giant service that sets La Fiesta apart from the competition in a similar price range is the complimentary breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Some rooms, including the suite, have an upgraded breakfast. We had the option of fresh scones, muffins, egg sausage cheese sandwiches, yogurt, juice, and more.

The kids ate bagels. I ordered sausage, egg, and cheese on biscuits. They were fresh and tasted great. They were filling, and I didn’t need to eat again until lunch.

St. Augustine has no shortage of things to do for your family. The city is rich in culture and history. In addition, many local shopping opportunities and typical tourist traps will help keep your family entertained.

Castillo de San Marcos

Castillo de San Marcos is a fantastic place to visit. The Spanish fort built in the 1500s protected the city from British invasion and pirates. Many great exhibits help provide visitors with a look at the lives of those who helped protect St. Augustine.

The National Park Service runs the fort, and many discounts apply to the entrance fee, such as America the Beautiful pass, military, senior, and others. The entrance fee is $15 for those 12 and up and free for kids under 12. In addition, the Castillo offers a gift shop, a modern restroom, and plenty of picture opportunities.

Saint George St.

The original “Main St.” of St. Augustine now offers visitors a variety of shops, restaurants, and attractions. Walking through St. George St. is like stepping back in time. With the oldest wooden schoolhouse and brick sidewalks void of vehicles, it’s like you’re touring a 1700s mall.

We recommend entering St. George St. through the Old City Gates close to Castillo de San Marcos. Heading south opens many shopping and dining opportunities that could get you in trouble if you are a shopper. This is just one of the many historic streets to explore.

St. Augustine Beach

We touched on the private beach access already, but it’s worth mentioning again. One of my favorite things was watching the kids play in the ocean. So, if you’re an early bird, head out to the beach to catch one of the most beautiful sunrises you’ll ever see. The best part is it’s free to access the beach. Additionally, the beaches provide a surface you can drive your vehicle on.

St. Augustine Lighthouse

The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum is located a few minutes from La Fiesta and is another historic landmark to check out with the kids. Ticket prices are $12.95 to $14.95 for general admission, with other tours available, including ghost tours. General admission provides visitors with a day in the life of a lighthouse operator and scavenger hunt.

We had a fantastic time, and I want to give a special thanks. We were provided with a beautiful personalized experience and provided a warm welcome and anything we needed. Everyone was friendly and provided excellent service.

We highly recommend St. Augustine as a family-friendly and fun vacation spot for you and the kids. However, if you decide to visit, give La Fiesta Inn a look. It’s a great place to stay with great people in a great location. We highly recommend it and will be back. Let us know what you think about La Fiesta, or another great place to stay in St. Augustine.
